The Royal St Kitts Golf Club
For the dedicated golf enthusiasts planning a trip to St Kitts needn’t worry, the island may only have one Championship golf course, but it ranks among the world’s most beautiful. The Royal St Kitts Golf Club sprawls out over 125 acres, its 18-hole championship course suitable for novices and experts alike.
Redesigned by famed architect Thomas McBroom in 2003, the course captures the unique character of the Kittitian landscape. Few fairways in the United States can match its singular beauty — picturesque oceanfront fairways, swaying coconut palms, and the like. The Royal St Kitts Golf Club was also the first in the Caribbean to receive an Audubon certification for its environmental practices. But despite its aesthetics, this course packs a bite with four tee choices, 80 bunkers and 10 water hazards, this expansive course offers a stiff challenge.
Throw in a well-appointed clubhouse, driving range, putting green, and full-service pro shop, and the Royal St Kitts Golf Club has all the ingredients necessary to be a destination course. You can also sharpen your skills; the Club’s Royal Golf Academy specializes in all levels of golf instruction, and books private lessons, group clinics, and one- to three-day golf schools.
It’s smart to reserve tee times as far in advance as possible.
